According to the Japan Chemical Fibers Association,the nation's production of man-made fibers in 2019 decreased by 6.9% from the previous year to 819,131 tons,thus decreasing for the eighth consecutive year,(provisional)Of this,the production of synthetic fibers declined by 5.7% to 656,408 tons,and that of cellulosic fibers fell 11.4% to 162,723 tons.
