The humane handling of animals should be a priority for any stockperson, according to Dr. Temple Grandin. She has studied and observed the right and wrong ways of dealing with animals for many years. "I think using animals for food is an ethical thingto do, but we've got to do it right. We've got to give those animals a decent life and we've got to give them a painless death. We owe the animal respect," Grandin told attendees at the 2018 Maritime Beef Conference in Moncton, New Brunswick, in mid-March.
