First focused survey of Eupelmidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) in Morocco with four new records

The fauna of Eupelmidae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) of Morocco has been reviewed for the first time. The study of this family revealed a new genus, Merostenus Walker, 1837, represented by M. bolivari (Kalina, 1988), and three new species, Eupelmus schmiedeknechti Ruschka, 1921, E. seculatus (Ferriere, 1954) and E. hartigi (Forster, 1841). These species were identified for the first time in the Maamora forest in a study carried out between 2012 and 2014, bringing the total number of species for this family to 21. The number of genera and species of Eupelmidae in Morocco is compared with that of neighbouring countries with similar climates.
