Sinopec’s LNG imports rise in 2019

China’s state-controlled Sinopec imported more LNG at its three terminals last year, thanks to stronger domestic gas consumption, increased pipeline connectiv- ity and additional demand to fll its Wen23 gas storage site. Sinopec received 6.5mn t/yr of imported LNG on 98 vessels at its 3mn t/yr Tianjin terminal in northern China last year, exceeding the terminal’s nameplate capacity. It did not reveal the exact volumes received at its other two terminals - the 3mn t/yr Qingdao and 3mn t/yr Beihai facilities.
