Harbour raises bid for Australia's Santos

US-based energy investment firm Harbour Energy has raised its takeover bid for Australian independent Santos to $10bn. The Santos board of directors has agreed to consider the latest bid of $4.98/share, having rejected a bid of $3.45/share in November. The Santos board has signed a confidentiality deal with Harbour to allow due diligence and will make a recommendation on the offer this month.
