Teekay orders two LNG-fuelled tankers

New York-listed shipping group Teekay Offshore Partners will exercise options to order two additional LNG-fuelled Suezmax shuttle tankers. The vessels will be built by South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and are expected to be delivered in 2020. The shuttle tankers will operate in the North Sea as part of Teekay’s contract of affreightment fleet, the firm says. The newbuild order is an extension of a July 2017 contract between Teekay and SHI for delivery of two LNG-fuelled Suezmax tankers in 2019 and 2020.
