Tellurian backs cost competitiveness of US exports

US LNG exports will remain cost competitive, but efforts are needed to curb the cost of project fi nancing, Colorado-based LNG developer Tellurian’s chief executive, Meg Gentle, says. The company is confi dent that it will be able to deliver LNG at $3/mn Btu on a fob basis, Gentle says. This could result in US LNG being delivered to Europe for as little as $3.50/mn Btu and to Asia for $4.50/mn Btu, she says. European natural gas prices might only need to be slightly higher than US Henry Hub prices for US LNG to head to Europe, with the premium as little as 20￠/mn Btu. Tellurian’s fob offer would be competitive regardless of international LNG market conditions, Gentle says.
