Qatar Petroleum (QP) and ExxonMobil signed a fnal agreement on 5 February to build the 15.6mn t/yr Golden Pass LNG export project in Texas. It will cost more than the previously announced $10bn, ExxonMo- bil says, without specifying how much. State-owned QP would pay more than $8bn and ExxonMobil more than $2bn, although QP would have a 70pc share and the US major 30pc.
