Canada’s Husky Energy has drilled a successful exploration well in the South China Sea. Husky said that the successful well was drilled on Block 15/33 in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, around 160km southeast of Hong Kong. Initial results from the first of two exploration wells drilled on the 155sq km block demonstrated four oil-bearing zones with a combined thickness of around 70m (230ft). The water depth is around 80m (262ft).
