Bashvolgotanker starts ofshore loading at Yaroslavl

Shipowner Bashvolgotanker, the main carrier of products by river from Rosneft’s Ufa refneries, started operations at its Yaroslavl ofshore loading complex on 29 April — four days earlier than last year and two weeks earlier than in 2018. The complex transfers products supplied by barge from Ufa to tankers taking the northbound Volga-Baltic route. Bashvolgotanker plans to handle 1mn t of Ufa products in the 2020 river navigation season, up from about 875,000t last year. The frst cargo, 7,000t of fuel oil, was delivered from the Nalivnaya-12 barge, propelled by the tug boat OT-2073. The product was then transferred to a river- sea tanker for delivery to the PNT oil terminal at St Petersburg. Nalivnaya-type barges are too wide to pass through locks on the Volga-Baltic waterway, down- stream from Yaroslavl.
