Gasoil exports rise despite lockdowns

Exports of Russian gasoil,including diesel,heating oil and low-viscosity marine fuel,rose by 7.5pc on the year to 27.15mn t in the first half of 2020.Shipments by pipeline,rail and river increased despite a big drop in global oil demand as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic(see table).Diesel exports through the Transneft pipeline system were more than 8pc higher on the year at 15.46mn t,accounting for 57pc of total gasoil exports from Russia in January-June,up by one percentage point against a year earlier.Rail supplies of gasoil for export were almost 4pc higher than in the first half of last year at 9.65mn t.And river shipments increased by nearly 5pc to 251,550t as Rosneft and Tatneft supplied more on Russia's waterways-Lukoil exported no diesel by river,compared with 10,130t a year earlier.
