River exports peak

Product exports along Russia's river system rose by more than a quarter against June to 847,200t last month-a 2020 high but 15pc lower than in July last year.The month-on-month increase reflects higher transit shipments from Turkmenistan and a resumption of river supplies from Rosneft's 140,000 b/d Kuibyshev refinery after maintenance.But river exports from Rosneft's 140,000 b/d Saratov plant and Ufa refineries were lower,as products were diverted to the rail system.Shipments from Samara probably peaked in July,but there is some scope for higher supplies from Saratov and Ufa,market participants say.Loadings at the Samara,Kashpir and Syzran terminals,serving the Samara refineries,more than doubled on the month to 367,500t in July.Gasoil supplies from Syzran were steady at 78,700t,but shipments of vacuum gasoil(VGO)and fuel oil from Kashpir more than doubled to nearly 127,000t in July.Fuel oil loadings at Samara surged to 162,300t,from just 10,000t in June,although overall supplies from the Samara hub were far below the 426,400t shipped in July 2019.
