The east Malaysian state of Sarawak has an opportunity to position itself as Asia’s first integrated biomass cluster, chief minister Abang Johari said. Sarawak could potentially use at least 6mn dry tons of biomass in four clusters of biofuel or biochemical plants around the port cities of Bintulu, Miri, Tanjung Manis and Kuching in the next 10-15 years, he told the International Biomass Conference Malaysia 2017 in Kuching.
