Riga wood chip loading hits record highs in October

Wood chip loading at the Latvian port of Riga during October recorded the highest monthly throughput of wood chips in at least the past 10 years, as the heating season ramped up and deliveries to Scandinavia increased. The port handled 130,000t of wood chips in October, up by 66.7pc on September and by 47.7pc on the 88,000t loaded in October last year.
