Thai wood pellet exports fell in the first quarter of the year from a year earlier,as South Korean demand was fulfilled by other southeast Asian countries.Thailand exported 47,000t of wood pellets in the first quarter of 2019,a 29.9pc decline on a record high 67,000t in the first quarter of 2018.Despite the decrease in wood pellet exports in the first quarter,year on year,it was the second strongest first quarter ever and the fifth highest quarterly export from Thailand.Wood pellet exports in March were also down,year on year,falling by 43.8pc to 18,000t.Despite South Korean demand rising,exports from Thailand to the country dipped in the first quarter.Thailand exported 46,000t to South Korea in the first quarter,down by 30.3pc on 66,000t in the first quarter 2018.
