Vietnam’s share of Japanese pellet demand climbs

Japan's imports of Vietnamese wood pellets rose by more than threefold on the year to 192,000t in the first quarter,as spot buying from Vietnam increased.Japanese wood pellet imports rose to a record high of 161,000t in March,a 48pc and 95pc climb on the month and year,respectively.Vietnam accounted for 95,000t,or 59pc,of Japan’s record imports last month-up by 151pc from February and almost five times stronger compared with a year earlier.
