Recording Purseweb Spiders (Atypus a/fin is)

In the last status review of the spiders of Great Britain, the Purseweb Spider is classified as Nationally Scarce (Harvey et al, 2017). The review also gives this species an Amber listing which means that despite remaining reasonably widespread, it has undergone substantial decline and would benefit from targeted research and survey.
