摘要

The efficacy of Starner (oxolinic acid) and streptomycin sulfate at 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 ppm in controlling soft rot in onion caused by Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora isolates from diseased onions collected in Giza, Egypt during 2002 was determined. Starner was more effective than streptomycin sulfate in controlling the disease. The growth of the bacterial isolates were inhibited with 25-15 ppm Starner, whereas most of the isolates were resistant to streptomycin sulfate at 125 ppm. Dipping of onion bulbs to 100 or 150 ppm Starner before planting resulted in the highest control of the pathogen.
