Nitrogen and zinc management at wheat phenophase for enhancing productivity and profitability under climate change

Nitrogen and zinc is an essential nutrient in sustainable wheat production but due to deficiency in soil and inappropriate management of fertilizer, become a global issue to schedule nitrogen and zinc to sustain wheat production under present environment situation. The present study was therefore laid out in randomized block design (factorial) with three replications. The treatments comprised of 4 nitrogen scheduling (0 kg N/ha; 50% RDN at sowing + 50% RDN at Z_(20), (Zadoks scale); 50% RDN at sowing+ 25% RDN at Z_(20) + 25% RDN at Z^ and 50% RDN at sowing + 25% RDN at Z_(20),, + 25% RDN at Z_(37)) and 4 zinc scheduling (0 kg Zn/ha; 0.5% Zn EDTA spray at Z& 0.25% Zn EDTA spray at Z_(45) + 0.25% Zn EDTA spray at Z_(60) and 0.25% Zn EDTA spray at Z_(45) + 0.25% Zn EDTA spray at Z_(73)). Nitrogen scheduling, 50% RDN at sowing + 50% RDN at Z_(20) and zinc scheduling at 0.5% Zn EDTA spray at Za significantly increased growth and yield attributes, yield (4.02 t/ha), and net return (Rs 40169/ha). The Ntand Zn_1 recorded 40.59 and 28.00 per cent higher yield, respectively along higher net return and B:C ratio over control.
