Straw reapers are used for harvesting of crops mostly at ground level. Straw reapers are classified on the basis of conveying of crops. It avoids fuel consumption and labour requirement. As the population of India increases day by day, there is incrementof food, vegetables so need of farm mechanization also increases, machineries provide more operations in less time. Straw reaper is a machine that cuts, threshes and cleans the straw in one operation. The left wheat stalks after combine harvest are cutby an oscillating blade. It gives superior separating performance. Double blower operating (just behind) rushes the straw to trolley attached and separate the dust particles. Keeping in view that straw reaper is a beneficial technology for farmers, the study was conducted in Kaithal district of Haryana state. From this district, Kaithal block was selected randomly. Two villages were selected, namely, Titram and Peoda from the selected block. Finally, 100 straw reaper adopters were selected randomly forthe purpose of the study. Interview schedule was prepared to collect the desired information. Socio-economic changes due to straw reaper technology were like increase in household assets, more expenditure on education of children and social events as reported by the farmers.
