The recent years have seen an increase in consumer awareness about the use of natural resources for daily activities. This includes cleaning and washing of clothes and other daily household chores. Studies have depicted the shift toward cold water washes with short cycle times for washing of garments and other fabrics. While this shift has the ability to save energy and protect fabrics from wear and tear, they are not effective against the microbes that accumulate on the surface of the fabrics during use.
