Consumers in the United States are a key part of the aluminium industry. Literally. Without the recycling efforts of average consumers, new sources of the raw ingredients for aluminium production would need to be secured annually. Costs would increase throughout the industry. But while recycling is important today, the potential for further improvements in the recycling of aluminium products is substantial. Costs could be reduced even further. As a side benefit, environmental aspects could be enhanced.
