New Aluminum-Electrolytic Capacitors Last A Lifetime

Researchers at Vishay Intertechnology havedeveloped snap-in aluminum-electrolytic capacitors that canwithstand temperatures of up to 125oC and loads of up to 400V.Dubbed EYX, the life of the new power-capacitors will exceed500,000 hours at a temperature of 40oC. At a continuoustemperature of 125oC and a (nominal) voltage of up to 100V, theywill last fo rat least 3000 hours. The capacitors are available incapacitance values from 47μF to 33000μF with voltage ratingsof 10V to 400V. They are available in industry-standard sizesbetween 22mm×25mm and 35mm×50mm.
