Tanzania Songo Songo battle begins

Orca Exploration has rejected a takeover bid from Swala Oil & Gas focused on its producing Songo Songo gas field in Tanzania. Last year Swala submitted a US $130m offer to buy 40% in Orca which operates the Songo Songo field. The field currently produces around 40 MMcf/d and was the first gas-to-power project in Sub-Saharan Africa.
