The first wildcat off The Gambia for 40 years spudded earlier this week with results expected by late November. The Samo well is being drilled by the Stena Drillmax in 3,335ft (1,017m) of water around 112km offshore in Block A2. It is expected to take 40 days to drill to its total depth of 10,170ft (3,100m).
