NNPC said funding is nearly in place from Chinese financiers enabling the go ahead for the giant Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipeline which aims to supply gas to key industrial centres around the country. Expressions of interest for the phased project were initially invited back in 2013 but awards were made earlier this year for two of the three contracts in the first phase.
