Tanzanian specialist Orca Petroleum is looking to drill two wells if it can extend its hold over the Songo Songo field. The company recently rejected a takeover bid from Swala Oil & Gas but the licence to Songo Songo currently expires in 2026. Orca said last week there is scope under Tanzanian law for this to be extended which would enable the drilling of an appraisal well on Songo Songo North and an exploration well on Songo Songo West (SSW).
