CNR to take a hit after last minute Espoir drilling cancellation

Canadian Natural Resources cancelled the rig for its infill drilling programme at its Espoir field off Cote d'I voire just as it was about to begin.Seadrill’s West Vencedor had left Myanmar and was expected to arrive later this month for a firm US $20m programme with options for three more wells.However,Seadrill was handed an early termination notice and said that it expects to receive a lump sum payment worth the same value as the contract.
