BP readies second Senegal well as Kosmos bids due in

BP and Kosmos are ready to drill an appraisal well at their second gas hub off Senegal and Mauritania after successfully completing a well on the Greater Tortue field. The companies have the Ensco DS-12 rig for three firm wells including the well on Tortue, an appraisal on Yakaar Teranga and then an exploration well at Orca. In the meantime Kosmos said bids for another 20 per cent of its holding in the acreage are due in shortly with "considerable" interest.
