To take advantage of wasted energy sources, energy harvesting technology is an alternative that can be used. Rectenna is a combination of “rectifying” and “antenna” which is a technology that utilizes electronic waves to be converted into electrical energy. Inthis study designed a rectenna and a switch using a relay. The relay in this system is to function as a switch or an automatic switch, which will connect the antenna to the TV when the rectifier off and connect the antenna to the TV when the TV is on. Rectifier is designed using 1N60 diodes4 pieces and 1 piece of SMD capacitor C1206. Antenna used in this study is an indoor UHF TV antenna with booster. In the relay switches using SRD-05vdc-sl-c. There are 3 measurementing in this study such as: the measurement without using the switch, the measurement by using the switch whenthe radio was turned off, and the measurement by using the switch when the radio was turned on. Measurements without using switches generating greater value than measurementing with switches for electromagnetic waves received by the antenna directly to the rectenna without going through theswitch. Rated voltage generated at SOMRT system is at the time of measurementing the switch when the TV is switched off with the output value of 610.6 mV.
