Experiments have been made on the onset anddamping behavior of the oscillation in a thermoacoustic primemover with nitrogen as the working fluids. In contrast to thetraditions indicating that the damping point coincide with the onsetone, we find lags between the onset temperature and the dampingtemperature in the thermoacoustic oscillation. A hysteretic loop,due to the temperature difference, is recognized for the first time.It is confirmed by all results of the nitrogen of 0.4~2.4 MPa. Someinteresting phenomena observed in the experiments are also presented.
