Glencore has released updated production guidance for the 2017-2020 period. Guidance for 2017 remains unchanged from its Q3 production report, at 1,105kt +/- 15kt for zinc and 280kt +/- 5kt for lead. For 2018, it actually sees a decline in its attributable zinc production, to 1,090kt +/- 30kt, followed by an increase to 1,160kt +/- 30kt in 2019 and a further rise to 2020 to 1,300kt +/- 30kt. Lead guidance sees production increasing by 20kt each year, to 340kt +/- 10kt by 2020. Underlying these figures, the company also announced an anticipated restart of operations at the Lady Loretta mine at Mt Isa in Queensland, plus brownfield expansions at Zhairem in Kazakhstan (operated by Kazzinc), and Contonga in Peru, which was acquired from Nyrstar earlier this year.
