John Holland-KBR Joint Venture engaged EYWAD Pty Ltd to undertake the structural rehabilitation and upgrade works to the 53 year old, 45 metre deep, 6.7 m diameter concrete sewer shaft, at Melbourne Water's Brooklyn Pumping Station. The Brooklyn shaft to be rehabilitated is the last downstream manhole located on the Brooklyn Trunk Sewer system, positioned immediately before sewage flows are divided to either the north or south pump wells at the Brooklyn Pumping Station. The shaft is located within the Melbourne Water Brooklyn Pumping Station at the rear western boundary of the site.
