Michigan State University is soliciting for as much as150,000 short tons of coal for its T.B. Simon Power Plantunits 1 and 2 for delivery between 2012 and 2014.The coal will fulfill about 20% of the plant’s annual coalconsumption and will replace an expired contract.“This is replacing one of the long-term agreementsthat we had with Alpha [Natural Resources]. They finisheda Massey contract,” Utilities Director RobertEllerhorst said.
