摘要

We present transitent resonance Raman spectra and density functional theory calculations that indicate the iso-di-bromoacetic acid (Br-BrCHCOOH) species can be produced in noticeable amounts following ultraviolet photolysis of dibromoacetic acid in cyclohexane solution. We compare the properties of the iso-dibromoacetic acid species to those previously found for the related iso-dibromomenthane species. We briefly discuss the potential utility of using iso-dibromoacetic acid incyclopropanation reactions to make substituted cyclopropane products.
