Echa biocides Committee backs creosote approval due to lack of alternatives

Echa’s Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) supported the approval of the carcinogenic wood preservative creosote at its final meeting of the year. The BPC also backed the approval of the carcinogen ethylene oxide, but voted against approving the active substance diamine.
