摘要

The refining of raw materials or construction products derived from them using CO_2-neutral and energy-efficient processes is currently an important topic. The ecological aspect is also becoming increasingly important in the binder industry. For example, Portland cement is one of the raw materials with the highest energy consumption and has a significant environmental impact on a global scale as a result of the emissions generated in the production process. An effective approach is the substitution of cement clinker by tempered natural pozzolan. In recent years researchers at the IAB - Weimar Institute of Applied Construction Research gGmbH/DE have been developing binder alternatives based on calcined clays for technically and ecologically optimized applications.
