Revival of Foundry Industry in Punjab Retarded by Power Cut

Metal casting industry is trying hard to come out of recession. In fact, the industry has already started to revive at a slow pace in the country. Foundries in Punjab, a state where a number of metal casting units of various sizes exist, started to move towards the hay days gradually. But, heavy power cut has hit the industry badly. The problem is now in an acute state retarding the revival of the metal industry including foundry sector in the Punjab state. Shortage in power supply resulted in decrease in production of castings by 50 - 60 per cent in the region.
