Hanging on the wall behind a Perspex cover in a far corner of Ruthin Craft Centre's Gallery 3 are three open sketchbooks. Their pages show various pencil and watercolour sketches, a handwritten, self-motivational note and, on one, a Sellotape-stained and yellowed newspaper cutting. The article's headline reads 'Alisdair's Boyhood Dream': it tells the story of Alisdair Kettles, who bought his first kiln aged just 15, before setting up what continues to be a hugely successful pottery supplies company a mere two years later.
