One of Britain's most highly respected contemporary potters, Robin Welch has a career spanning over six decades. At just 15 years old, while studying painting and sculpture at Penzance School of Art, Robin had a cup, saucer and bowl set he made selected for presentation to Prince Charles in celebration of the school's 100th anniversary - a sign of the future ahead of him as a talented ceramist. Today, his diverse range of work includes large vessels with related paintings, fine drawings and bold, freely constructed bowls and vases that explore colour, surface texture, form and detail.
