Revisions to TIA and IEEE standards provide for bandwidth growth

Surging bandwidth demand has contributed to growthin cloud computing as many companies seek tooutsource IT management and reduce costs. Cloudcomputing relies on networks of data centres that usestandards-based components, equipment and cables.Key standards committees are developing newstandards to address the requirement for faster networkspeeds. These committees are under organizationssuch as the Institute of Electrical and ElectronicEngineers (IEEE), the International Organization forStandardization (ISO), the International ElectrotechnicalCommission (IEC), and the TelecommunicationsIndustry Association (TIA). These organizations ensurethat standards are updated to meet emerging andfuture needs.
