Leopold G. Koss: A tribute to his life and work

Cytopathology is privileged to publish a personal tribute to Professor Leopold G. Koss, who died on 11 September last year, by Professor Dulcie V. Coleman, the first editor-in-chief and one of the two founding editors of this journal. Her tribute provides an insight into the extraordinary journey that brought this brilliant and talented man to the United States of America. The sad news of his death marks the end of an era. We decided to dedicate our first issue this year to Dr Koss in respect of his outstanding academic achievements in addition to his humanity, sense of humour, and love of art and music as well as science.
