ACertificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), also known as a health certificate, is an official document issued by a licensed and accredited veterinarian that certifies the animals identified on the document have been inspected by him/her and were found to satisfy the regulations for their intended movement, either within the same state, between states, or internationally. Category ll-accredited veterinarians can issue CVIs for all animals INCLUDING livestock, horses, and poultry; and Category l-accredited veterinarian can issue CVIs for dogs, cats, laboratory animals, and rabbits.
