摘要

For the first time in British politics, people for the 28 member states of the European Union united as one to lobby their MPs and ask for the right to stay of EU citizens living in the UK to be granted unilaterally. We gathered in the morning of 20 February in the library ofWestminster Central Hall near Parliament and the room was buzzing with activity around the tables and the organisations' stands (the3million, New Europeans, UNISON, Migrants' Rights Network, Migrant Voice, One Day Without Us). We then went to Parliament Square to join up with One Day Without Us before going to Parliament where meetings were being held and MPs were meeting their constituents. I came to the UK 17 years ago to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I landed in Luton on Bonfire Night with just £50 in my pocket and a suitcase full of hope. I have worked hard for the NHS ever since. Since Brexit my life is on hold and my future is unknown. I am one of the 3 million EU citizens who live in this country but I feel that the Government is treating us as a bargaining chip at the Brexit table.
