Growing material from seed is a very appealing thing to many bonsai lovers, especially if the material of interest is difficult to find or impossible to import in live plant form. Growing from seed seems, at first glance, to be an ideal way to acquire the desired material when more immediate sources are not available. Before investing a great deal in growing from seed, one should be aware of the perils of sprouting seeds.
