A framework for monitoring the status of populations: An example from wader populations in the East Asian-Australasian flyway (vol 143, pg 2238, 2010)

The authors note that Table 1 appeared incorrectly in the published version and the data used in the analysis included some errors. Thus the authors have re-performed all the analysis with the corrected data set. After the reanalysis, the number of species that have declined significantly in at least one of the past 10, 20 or 30-year periods changed from 12 and 16 to 11 and 14 in spring and autumn, respectively. However, these changes have no implication for the main conclusion of the paper; that is, the use of rice fields and dependence on the Yellow Sea were the two drivers that negatively affected the population trends of waders in Japan. Details of the corrections to the results appear below.
