Shell's chemicals earnings rise by 20% amid strong industry conditions

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Shell's chemicals earnings excluding identified items rose by 20% year on year to $650m in the third quarter amid stronger industry conditions, the energy major said on Thursday. Chemical sales slipped by 1% to 4.54m tonnes in the third quarter as manufacturing plant availability dropped to 88% compared with 93% in the same period of last year.
