Any job losses from the radical shift in US economic policy direction might thus be more than cancelled out by gains in employment. But it is hard to see this happening in 2017. Instead, it seems almost inevitable that disruption to global manufacturing chains and geopolitical uncertainties etc. will lead to a global recession before this year is finished.
