US VCM, EDC prices decrease on derivative PVC's decline

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US spot prices for vinyl chloride (VCM) and ethylene dichloride (EDC) softened during the week as derivative values lowered, the ICIS assessment found on Friday. The two chemicals represent the production chain from chlorine to derivative polyvinyl chloride (PVC). US spot EDC prices moved lower by an average of $10/tonne FOB (free on board) US Gulf on a deal done and new discussion levels, according to market feedback. The new range of $140- 150/tonne defines bid/offer levels, though some bids were heard lower.
