India's Hindustan Organic may restart phenol plant in April

MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Indian producer Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd (HOCL) has plans to restart its phenol/acetone plant possibly in early April, after shutting it down on 1 March, a company source said on Friday. The plant, located at Kochi in Kerala, can produce 40,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 24,640 tonnes/year of acetone. The plant was restarted in the week of 6 February following several months of shutdown.
